A breakdown of our kitchen remodel
I was browsing posts the other day when it occurred to me - I hadn't posted our kitchen renovation breakdown! Here it is.
Our counterop is Numerar from Ikea. It's finger-jointed, solid beech. So far, we love it (we do use cutting boards, & also finished it with a product called Waterlox which came highly recommended).
White subway tile from either Home Depot or Lowes. I don't think it really matters. It's cheap & pretty.
Domsjo double bowl apron front sink from Ikea. Needless to say, this is my favorite part of our new kitchen.
This Kohler faucet from Home Depot is similar to the one we installed, although ours is a brushed metal, not quite so shiny.
Our new refrigerator is Whirlpool, also on recommendation as a good brand for appliances (we learned the hard way with a bum first dishwasher). My mother in law gifted us this beautiful new refrigerator and I'm smitten.
Bud used leftover countertop for our open shelves and I picked up black knobs and pulls from Lowes for the cabinets.
Our cabinets are largely original though our contractor built new doors and added crown molding. He also had to rebuild the sink and dishwasher area since we switched it around.
I love our cozy & bright new kitchen and, all in, it cost us about $7,000, including labor, materials and new appliances (we also bought a new microwave, dishwasher and stove).
Lastly, it bears noting that I relied heavily on this kitchen from Smitten Studio for inspiration :)
