Home improvement tip
This is one of those little-but-biggies in home improvement. My approach to money saving is to choose the cheapest x, y, z, without compromising quality. Duh. But when does the more expensive purchase actually equal better (or money saving in the long run)?
With paint!
I can't tell you the number of rooms we've painted with cheap paint, only to add another coat & another & another. I just thought that's how you had to paint. Then...the paint store had a name brand color I liked + it was on sale. Whoa.
Have you ever had that experience? You do something on the cheap for so long, you had no idea it could be that much better/easier?
With paint it goes on way smoother & you only need one, maybe two, coats. Who knew paint could be this exciting?
(The above pale pink (quite possibly my favorite color in the world) is called Anemone and the paint color we used in the living room & hallway is Softer Tan, both by Sherwin Williams.)
Also, here are some room before & afters: living room, office & dining room.
Totally our experience. We bought Home Depot brand paint (Behr) some years ago. It streaked and required multiple coats. Then we went to Sherwin Williams and bingo, great results and easy application. Never looked back.
