A moderately incoherent post
Yesterday we met Summer + family for lunch at a nearby country cooking type diner. They had been to nearby Folly beach and so I suggested we all meet up and Ella could meet Juniebug.
After fighting the kind of traffic that only happens when you are trying to meet up with people whom you've convinced to stop and go out of their way to see you, we showed up at the restaurant and gingerly picked our way all the way to the back room where, no doubt, they put the large families with many, many, many kids.
Although we enjoyed the visit - especially the ten or so seconds Summer and I got to talk, hollering over the kid's heads while stopping to say things like, "seriously, get off the floor, that's disgusting." and "no you may not run out to the car for something." - it was a circus. Then our waitress was not really...present. You know what I mean? Summer ordered three milks for her kids (while I got mine 'Prite, being the younger and therefore crappier mother) and our waitress showed up with three chocolate milks. Her kids were all, heck yeah we've been good! I ordered an iced tea and she brought two Diet Cokes. We were in a relative hurry so naturally she walked towards the kitchen like she was on a walk through the country side and the WEATHER WAS PERFECT.
Finally we finished our meal and herded all of the yowling cats into the various suburban mobiles. It was the picture of sexy.
By the time I got home, both my itties were asleep so I sat there in the driveway, live tweeting that shit. For those of you who caught those tweets? YOU'RE WELCOME. What? You want those minutes of your life back? I got two words for you folks: Un follow. Because this genius is just going to keep right coming atcha.
I totally got your tweets and loved them! And Sprite? Girl that's nothing. I have poured (and I shutter to even admit this) coca cola mixed with water into Sally's sippy cup in a restaurant before because if it keeps her quiet and happy, then we're all happy. We sometimes must bend our rules to make venturing out in public feasible.
