The perfect cotton pajamas

Pajama_pink

For Christmas (or was it birthday? They're days apart so they run together :) my mother in law, Bonnie, gave me the sweetest gift: soft, blue flannel pajamas. I'd been coveting proper pj's for a long time and I adore/d them! But since I wore them every night for two months (as in washed one day and wore again that night), the drawstring broke a couple of weeks ago.

I began poking around for new ones but couldn't find the right pair. I hesitated to look at Victoria's Secret because I gave up on their overpriced, poor quality bras long ago (I will totally splurge for high quality, but get so annoyed when I pay a lot for poor quality).

But.

I did find the perfect pajamas at Victoria's Secret. The Cotton Mayfair is super cute, cozy, and harks back to a time when I might've reached over and plucked an olive from Jim-dear's martini. I just love them. I got the pink stripe but the other prints are cute, too. Especially the chambray stripe & the white swiss dot.

Chambray

(Also, the perfect inexpensive bra. You can find them at Costco or here online).

I pray you only button two buttons and walk around with your midriff showing like the models.

Yes & I also answer the door this way too, now.

To save your old pj's: Replace the drawstring with a piece of waist-comfortable elastic the size of your waist plus a few inches. Take a large safety pin and pin one end of the elastic to it and feed it through the casing where the drawstring was from the first hole to the end hole and then tie the two ends together in a knot. OR...buy a new pair of pajamas!

Robin! You must be channeling Bonnie. I kept hearing her voice in my head as I used a safety pin to try & fish the drawstring out. BUT, turns out it's sewed to the (in)sides as well so the piece that broke off was at a seam. I still wear them, they're just loose :)
