Make a spring bunting
The other day I was browsing the aisles of Target (totally trying not to get sucked in), when I spotted a spring bunting. Huh. That looks pretty easy to make.
Plus I already had leftover linen fabric from the heart pillow project, so the cost for materials was minimal.
The kids and I did go by the craft store to pick up some additional bright yellow for the letters - and while there Truett picked up a dark green flannel for a big Easter egg, I'll have to show you later ;) - but other than that I used things around the house.
Materials list:
Roll of string (we keep in junk drawer & is perfect for all kinds of last minute crafts)
Leftover linen fabric
Leftover (oh-so-soft) light pink flannel from pillow project
New bright yellow flannel for letters
Fabric glue
I began by eyeballing small triangles of the linen fabric. I cut the material folded in half for a diamond shape. Here, let me just show you.
(I tried sketching the triangle with a pencil, but it really didn't show up.)
Folded triangle.
Unfolded triangle.
Flags placed on string.
I cut out teardrop shapes with the light pink fabric and dabbed fabric glue on the back to affix.
I cut letters (while True sat next to me & worked on his Easter egg). Glued them down.
Then I glued the tip of each diamond together so the flags would stay on the string itself.
Viola!
(If you find your flags slipping, you could dab glue on the top and affix to the string as well.)
The great thing about this project (besides the fact that it is simple + fun + pretty) is that you could use it to do just about anything. I think it would be fun to spell out "baby" for a shower gift or keep one that says "happy birthday" to re-use each year, or even something like "happy" to put up year round :)

Love this! And you can use it every year! Better than the paper variety.

Yes! And think of the possibilities (I think I've gone bunting crazy ;)
