The prettiest lipstick color

So, remember this pouty instagram/Friday tidbits picture? That trip to Ulta totally inspired me (that, plus a few of your comments!) to drop in again yesterday to browse the bright pink lipsticks.

At first I couldn't get anyone's attention - and was struggling with two bags + two kids - until Truett hopped up on a tall chair at a makeup counter and began loudly playing with some brushes. He'd invented some storyline and then began trying to clean them up (!) which set a bunch of the makeup clerks to laughing. I told them I was looking for a bright pink and then they exchanged this funny little look, like, should we show her?

What they brought out was a BRIGHT pink stick of Stila lipstick called Betsy and at first I recoiled at the almost-neon color. "No, no, no, that's too bright!" 

But then...what the hell! I'll try it. Why not? And, surprise! Loved it. It'll knock your socks off if you only open the tube and look. It looks like the brightest pink on the planet. But then, if you try it on, it becomes an almost subtle, sophisticated bright pink. Make no mistake, it's bright, but it's surprisingly neutral at the same time. I can't stop wearing it. Around the house, to the bank, to Whole Foods.

I can't wait for a date-night so I can pout around town :)  What'd you think, would you wear something that bright?
