Baby shower tip: stock a freezer
My girlfriend and I were chatting the other day and she told me something she did when her friend was pregnant with twins (her 2nd & 3rd babies). Instead of a typical shower (since you usually don't shower someone as much, or at all, the second time around) she hosted a stock-the-freezer party!
Such a simple idea, but such a profoundly smart one! If your friend has a deep freeze (or you could go on craigslist and try to score one secondhand), you get everyone to bring a frozen dish or two. By the time the party was over she said they had the family in meals for a month. What a brilliant idea.
And such a relief in those early days. What do you think? Isn't that awesome? What was the best thing someone did for you?
(And by the way, that's June in her first week or two. I shouldn't look at old pictures...I just shouldn't.)

What an awesome idea! Did you prepare meals in advance for yourself? I did not!

I...can't remember. I think w/ T I froze a few things & w/ June I had Summer & Kathleen who both did an amazing job prepping my kitchen. Summer made shortbread and stocked the fridge w/ at least two dinners and mini glass bottles of Coke! It was such fun to come home to!!

I just did a quick couple coats on my own. She slept so much in the early days it really wasn't hard!
