Today I was sitting at the coffee shop, playing with my hair and staring off into space, when I noticed an older woman across the shop from me staring. I defensively pulled my hand out of my hair and looked at her briefly, all, WHAT? Before looking back down at my computer because I AM DOING IMPORTANT WORK HERE. You know, Facebooking and...thinking and...checking important internet SITES. STUFF.
When I looked back up, I realized she was beginning to make her way over to my table and I started to panic just a little because, much as I would like to believe in things like COMMUNITY and TALKING TO ONE ANOTHER, I sometimes have a severe case of Hiding Behind My Computer. I looked at her a little quizzically, maybe there is something on the window behind me? Maybe we are related (not that crazy a thought actually because my father grew up in this state and it's like, four degrees to first cousin no matter where I am)?
She approached my table and smiled politely before blurting out, "We have no idea what we're doing." Which is when I recognized the look on her husband's face, much like a look I see in Bud whenever he is not completely in control of a situation and I realized they didn't know how to get online. Ha! How cute! How charming. So I scooted over to their table, got them online and heaved myself back into my little seat. And how like a wife to take one for the team and ASK FOR HELP.
Men don't ask for help because, quite frankly, we don't need it.

I realize this. Much better that he should have continued to stare at the login screen.

What is the saying about not knowing what you don't know?
