Last night we trotted out the stories of What Went Wrong in Our Childhood and ho boy, let me tell you, if you'd like to save some family relationships DO NOT GO HERE. My poor mother sat there trying to defend the fact that we were expected to be very...um...independent children while the rest of us reminded her of all the injustices we suffered. To his vast credit, my brother in law kept interjecting, "So? What's wrong with that?" in defense of my mom's boot camp mothering style. (Ah please don't read this while we're still on vacation and I have to actually face the music, family.)
This morning I woke up wondering why we can't all just leave each other well enough alone but I swear, without an ultra Costco pack of Valium (do they make those?), I don't think that's happening.
In other news, we might go canoeing today. If I drown? LOOK AT MY FAMILY.
